Sahar Khamenei aka Sahara was born in Iran and grew up in different parts of Europe.
She got infected by the jungle vibe back in 1996 and started to play her first club gigs in 1999. Highly motivated and never getting enough she launched the legendary party format "Female Skillz" with which she had big success in the last years and made it possible for many female djanes and activists to get more into the flashlight of publicity.
Over the years she played many national and international venues and meanwhile she looks back to a never ending dj career. Nowadays Sahara is one of the first ladys in the german drum'n bass scene and known through the whole country for her excellent dj-sets, which are always a mixture of melodic and happy tunes until hard and dark amen mashup representing drum and bass with all its musical aspects.
In 2005 she teamed up with DJ Homebass as the producer team “EUPHORIA”. She produced her first tracks together with homebass which will be released in february 2006 on her own imprint Destination Recordings. She is also working on solo tunes as well as starting other projects in 2006 with different musicians to develop her own unique style of music. Besides beeing a drum and bass activist, sahara loves spinning and scratching dirty ghetto tech.
