History
Alley Cat found her way from San Francisco to London in 1999 to work at the Skunkrock & ESP (artist booking agency) headquarters in London. Before that, in 1999 she toured twice through Germany: playing headlining gigs as well such as supports for artists as Shy FX and also for Kemistry & Storm on their DJ-Kicks Tour. To her several regular former gigs in California -e.g. her monthly 'Dragon Lounge' - residency in San Diego - she added an East Coast tour in July 99 . And as part of San Francisco's all female collective 'Sister' she impressed with her great track selection and mixing skills.
DJ-ing
Since moving to London, her career has taken off. To promote the label she has has been DJing abroad on a regular basis. Since 1999 she holds a guest residency at Berlin's popular Icon Club. Other guest residents at this venue include German star 'Bassface Sascha' and 'Doc Scott'. A second international guest residency at Munich's Atomic Cafe had been added in 2002. Throughout 2000 she mastered approx. 70 international DJ-bookings including three trips back to the US to further promote the label, several one-off gigs in Germany, a 5-date IQ/GQ Magazine tour in Austria co-headlining with Doc Scott from 31 Records. She also headlined Skunkrock's big Autumn / Winter - tour which brought / brings her to Austria, Switzerland, Germany, Holland, France, Denmark, all over the USA and to South Africa.
For 2001 Alley Cat's DJ-diary included gigs in Hawaii, the USA and Canada, Germany, the Czech Republic, Holland, Sweden, Denmark, London, Scotland, Ireland, Austria, Hungary and Belgium.
For the years 2002 / 2003 yet another mammoth project is in the pipeline for Alley Cat. She will be the main DJ for Skunkrock's "Crowd Control Tour". It is planned for her to DJ on 5 continents to promote the label and celebrate ist 5th anniversary.
One of her latest project is being host of Skunkrock's new webradio show in which she presents her latest material. The shows also feature guest mixes from Skunkrock related artists.
Her DJing style is very versatile. She likes tunes with lots of breaks and combines soulful and funky tracks with harder material. Marcus Intalex, Klute, A-Sides, Dillinja, Digital & Spirit and Doc Scott are among her favourite producers and never fail to make her dubplate & promo filled sets rock the crowds worldwide.
Private
Her schedule was interupted in the second half of 2001 as she was giving birth to a daughter in October that year. Being the striving dj she is, Alley Cat played internationally until she wasn't able to fly anymore in June and even then still jumped on the Eurostar train to squeeze in a booking in Brussels, Belgium, at that point being almost 7 months pregnant. And even in her ninth month of pregnancy she would appear on groovetech.com with a huge belly and only two months after the baby was born, she was on a plane again for more international bookings.
Releases
Her first release was "Payload" (Konflict Remix) / Iodine" on Skunkrock Productions 004, which she co-produced with labelmate Tha Countamen.
Just released in October 2001 was on SRP 009 a track called 'Captive' a collaboration with labelmate and Reinforced recording artist Daniel Savine. "Captive" was remixed by A-Sides for the Crowd Control EP due out on Skunkrock in September 2002.
Another track that she did with Native Minds (aka Savine & Rio) is called 'Dream' has been signed to Reinforced Records for release in Autumn 2002, which shows that her credibility goes beyond her own label.
